September 2019 Goals Report

My self-review of my progress towards Money Mastery in July - Dec 2019

Back in November 2018 I publically declared my goals for 2018-2019, but I did not keep up a monthly goals review for them. I also realised that the quantity of the goals I set overwhelmed me and the work to document, keep up the commitment as well as continue to work on my business resulted in me laxing my focus towards them.

In the meantime, mostly 2019, I have learned how to make things easier to promote my compliance and commitment. In July I decided to create a 6 month goal to focus on mastery money from July to December.

I have still set goals between July and the present, but it wasn’t until mid September (after obtaining my Thai education visa) that I was able to gain the time and security (temperary long term stay in the Kingdom) to put some time and energy back into my goals.

The main focus of my energy is on mastering money. I’m continuing to make progress towards health, education, and social, but I am sacrificing focus on them to direct it towards money to ‘catch-up’ with money, obtain a better level of certainty and options in life to put myself in a better position to concentrate of these other areas of my life in 2020.

With that said, here is my goals review for September.

Consistently make $5,400 per month through online freelance work

Result: $3,954 (70% of goal)
Progress: Behind

Pay off my debt

Result: $681.73 repayed
Progress: Behind

Save 6 months LCC (Living Costs Covered) $6,000

Result: $340.93 saved
Progress:
Behind by $2,659.07.

The last couple of months I was forced to tap into the money I saved in July. So this month I am starting from $0.

Spend 5% of my Income on my Self-Investment

Result: $170.46 Allocated
Progress: On track

I have yet to decide exactly what I was spend this money on. Last time these funds were used to pay for my 6 month Thai Language Course.

I gain most of my knowledge through ‘doing’ on the job. For example taking on jobs that I have small, or little experience in a regular time-frame which forces me to adopt a panic-mode sort of learning on the job that has been very rewarding thus far.
The purpose of this fund, however, is to take a proactive approach towards education and experience. Ultimately getting closer to mastery.

Spend 5% of my income towards financial freedom

Result: $170.46 Allocated
Progress: On track

I have yet to decide exactly what I was spend this money on. Last time these funds were used to pay for my 6 month Thai Language Course.

The idea of this ‘bucket’ is to allow me to invest in oppotunity when it arrises. However, I plan to regularly put a portion of it into crypto.

Obtain an education visa in Thailand to study Thai

Result: Obtained on 18th September. Started studying 27th
Progress:  Complete

Workout at The Gym 6 Days a Week Without Fail

Result: Missed just 1 day

I feel excellent about my commitment, discipline and the progress I’ve made towards my regular workout. I made great improvements in both reps, weights and form. Often the form aspect of it reduces my reps (one example being to ditch gloves when doing pullups and other hanging-related exercise). You can see my workout spreadsheet for Sepember here.

My Goals for October

  1. Easily earn $5,400 in October
  2. Easily save 1 months LCC ($1,000)
  3. Easily pay $1,946 towards debt repayment
  4. Easily spend 5% of my income towards self-investment
  5. Easily spend 5% f my income towards financial freedom
  6. Easily build a high quality WordPress theme worthy of selling online
  7. Strict Sleep and Wake Schedule for better quality sleep for 30 days
  8. Strict OMAD, Warrior, Carnivore diet for 30 days
  9. Perform my morning and evening rituals for 30 day

As well as these goals, I also have sub goals which are of the type which are controllable. For example: for ‘Strict Sleep and Wake Schedule for better quality sleep‘ I have a goal for ‘Setup all available red light sources to run from8pm. The idea with this is to create controllable goals which act as milestones along the way which will give me a sense of accomplishment in the process of reaching the goal, but which also are part of reaching the goal. I learned this from Stefan James’ post: Process Goals, Result Goals & When You Feel Like You’re not Making Progress.

I’m commited to keeping up this monthly review. I found it really rewarding to do, and I got a huge sense of joy from looking over my accomplishments and progress.
